Currencies

Currency List

Navigate to Geography > Currencies to see all currencies in the database. Each currency shows:

• Currency code — The ISO currency code (e.g., GBP, USD, EUR)
• Currency name — The full name (e.g., Pound Sterling)
• Subdivision — The minor unit (e.g., Pence, Cents)
• Countries — The countries using this currency

How Currencies Link to Data

Currencies are the primary organiser for banknotes. Each banknote record is linked to a specific currency. When browsing banknotes by country, the results are grouped by currency to show all denominations for each currency used in that country.
